About

Meet Louise Baker.

An applied neuroscience specialist who has spent a lifetime learning how the mind and body change, and how to make that change feel gentle, human and lasting.

Her story

From hypnotherapy to hard neuroscience.

Louise began studying hypnosis and human change, including counselling, coaching and psychotherapy, back in the early 1980s. Over four decades she became one of the UK's most respected practitioners, named UK Hypnotherapist of the Year in 2013 and training therapists internationally.

But Louise never stopped asking why these techniques work. That curiosity led her back to the classroom, to an MSc in Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health at King's College London and a postgraduate certificate in Functional Neuroanatomy at the University of Cambridge. Today she sits at a rare intersection: a seasoned, deeply human practitioner who can also explain, with scientific precision, what is happening in the brain and body when we feel fear, pain or calm.

That combination now shapes everything she does, from supporting people through the terror of a cancer diagnosis, to teaching spa professionals the neuroscience of touch, to helping build Vital, an AI-powered meditation app that puts personalised support in anyone's pocket.

What drives her

Making the science usable.

Louise's gift is translation. She takes the intimidating language of neuroscience and turns it into simple, teachable tools: practical techniques for calming the nervous system, managing anxiety, and reclaiming a sense of control when life feels overwhelming.

Her style is warm, empathetic and reassuring, but never vague. Clients and audiences describe a calm, soothing presence backed by genuine expertise. She helps you understand your own mind, and then hands you the means to change it.
